Engineered for the ocean.
From wave motion to electricity: discover the CorPower Ocean technology at the heart of Ngaru’s Aotearoa development pathway.
The C4 system
Motion becomes electricity.
The C4 floats at the surface and moves with the waves. That relative motion drives an internal power take-off, which converts mechanical movement into electricity.
CorPower’s WaveSpring control system is the differentiator: it is designed to amplify useful motion in regular seas and detune the device in storms. Ngaru is developing the local resource, grid, environmental and commercial case for its use in Aotearoa.

Inside the device
A controlled mechanical system.
The buoy, internal drivetrain and seabed connection operate as one system. CorPower’s public material describes a compact point absorber, a mechanical power take-off and active control that changes the device response between operating and survival conditions.

Technology milestones
Progress at sea.
C4 began operating offshore at Aguçadoura, Portugal, and exported electricity to the grid.
CorPower reports the C4 operated through verified extreme Atlantic conditions.
DNV issued a Prototype Certificate for the C4 under DNV-SE-0120.

From device to wave farm
Modular by design.
CorPower’s CorPack combines wave converters with anchoring, mooring and an electrical collection network. Clusters can be combined into larger farms as a project develops.
This describes CorPower’s product architecture. Ngaru project capacity and configuration remain subject to feasibility.
